How to enable GIT support in TFS 2012 Update 2 (self-service)

We have installed TFS 2012 with Update 2, but I can’t understand if Git support is enabled and how to create a team project using Git instead of version control of TFS. Is Git support supported only through tfs.visualstudio.com or in all TFS 2012 Update 2 installations? Do I need to install something separate on the server in order for Git to work? I installed the TFS tools for Git locally, but I still don’t see how to create a Git team project so that we can use TFS with our Mac work.

Thanks.

This is not true. It is available today at Team Foundation Foundation (cloud hosting) and will be included in the next major version (in place) of Team Foundation Server , TFS 2013, which is scheduled to be released by the end of the year .

Microsoft is about to release a preview of TFS 2013 next week, which includes local support for Git. The preview is marked as go-live, so you can use it in production without major problems.

See Brian Harry's blog post for more details.
