How to access the API?

Google Reader Dies (RIP) and finally created its own clone, as well as an API for external readers. This API is also open to other readers. But how can I access this API with my own RSS reader? I do not see any documentation or description about this.

At the moment, it seems that access to the Normandy API is limited to a very short list of whitelisted developers. I also wait to learn more about open access, because as soon as the migration occurs (in two to three days), my home scripts will be useless.
