Which version of MinGW should I use

I am a beginner programmer.

I want to use MinGW to develop programs in C and C ++ for Windows.

I took a basic C programming course that taught how to use Visual C ++ 2010 Express.

But I want to use open source programming tools instead of Microsoft tools.

There are 3 websites that provide installers for MinGW.

www.mingw.org

tdm-gcc.tdragon.net

http://nuwen.net/mingw.html

Which one is best used for beginners?

Edit: I decided to install the latest version of MinGW from Nuwen.net.

How to install pkg-config and install MSYS?

I prefer MinGW-builds and MinGW Distro

In my experience, the current version of tdm-gcc ( tdm-gcc-4.7.1-2 ) has a lot of errors, and you will need a lot of patches (lines, threads, ...), a choice between other options.

Another choice is MinGW next to the Qt package, which is well tested, but the version is not the latest.

Of these, I love nuwen, but to be honest, I think the best C beginner program is lcc-win

You can find it here.

Hope this helps
