Lotus Notes Document Source Control

It’s easy to incorporate Source Control into the Lotus Notes database β€” it will keep a copy of all design elements in the database on disk. But can documents be included? In our projects, we have a lot of documentation, keywords and translations stored in Lotus Notes documents in the database - can we include these documents in the original control?

Check out this link about Designer + Mercurial

Source control in Lotus Domino Designer

The process is very interesting: Domino designer loads the equivalent Eclipse project using DXL. Then Mercurial access this project and do your magic.

The solution should be similar, as you can also export documents as text using DXL. I think this will be the process:

  • The agent uploads all documents using HX: 00 hours using DXL to a specific folder
  • The planned Linux cron / Windows task, in JJ: 00 hours, calls Mercurial and performs a commit.

I am not a Mercurial expert, but as far as I read, I think this process will work.

What version control application are you using (e.g. CVS, SVN, Mercurial, github, etc.)? I used Mercurial and I thought this was an option when creating a remote repo.
