Visual Studio 2012-Update 2 will not load the solution if an SUO file is present

I am developing VS VS 2012 / .NET on several computers (everything works under Windows 8 Pro x64). Although VS is installed on all computers, I keep the project folder on an external USB3 drive. From time to time, I found that the project files were damaged on a USB drive (for example, stitched). Fortunately, I often back up, but obviously this situation is unbearable, so I tried to find out what the problems might be.

I still don't have a clear answer, but one strange behavior is this: if I open the .SLN file for my project in VS 2012, when the .SUO file is NOT present, it loads fine, the assemblies are fine, etc. HOWEVER, if I then save the project, exit VS (this is how the SUO file is created), and then try to ALLOW the VS solution to hang in (.... loading). I get the usual โ€œVisual Studio is busy .....โ€ messages, and it makes no sense to wait, the solution just never loads. I have to kill VS in TM. I tested it again, and I even did it from a local hard drive (unlike a USB drive) to find out if there is a problem with USB. This is not true. Remember that all this is on the same computer (to remove the โ€œmoveโ€ as the cause of the problem). The only way I can work with the project is to delete the SUO file before trying to open it.

I would suggest that if this were a VS error, it would be almost all over the Internet, and my searches could change something. So I ask if anyone has an idea of โ€‹โ€‹what might be the problem, or if there are links that can help me figure it out.

Thanks in advance.
