Disconnect the small arrows at the far end of the line

In Emacs (GTK), if I have a window with a slit that cannot show the whole line, it will show several small arrows indicating that there is more text on the right.

How to disable these little arrows?

See " Fringes " in the Emacs manual or type Mx set-fringe-style RET no-fringes RET .

Basically you need to adjust the value of the variable fringe-indicator-alist . Look at its default value with Ch v fringe-indicator-alist and remove the indicators you don't want to see.

Another simpler solution would be to disable visual-line-mode (which leads to the display of triangles). Adding this file to the init file should do the trick:

 (visual-line-mode -1)
