The Galaxy S4 "Report Error" dialog is never initialized

I am debugging the application on my Galaxy S4, I turned on the development tools and checked "Enable error reporting in the power menu." As soon as the application crashes, I pressed the power button and got the "Error Report" option. He notes that this may take some time, and I did this earlier on my Nexus 7 and past Android phone.

The problem is that the error report dialog box for emailing the screenshot log is never displayed. I waited more than an hour, checked from the actual menu "Developer Options" to "Make a bug report" (and not through the power menu) and everything in between; patiently and many times with different approaches. In any case, I searched everyone who reported the same problem, or how long it took for S4 to collect this data, but to no avail.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Will it be related to another installed application that causes this? Or has it taken more than an hour to put together a magazine? I would not suspect.

Not quite a solution to the "Make a bug report" problem, but you can use the Samsung bug report tool, SysDump *, to get the logs:

  • Open Dialer (Phone) and enter *#9900#
  • Run logcat / dumpstate. After that
  • Copy to SD card.

* Not my site, and I would not recommend trying all of these codes, especially number 5.

A debug report is generated in the background. You will not see a pop-up window, a notification will appear in the notification panel. Drag down to the top of the screen to see your notifications, and you will see a โ€œlog report generatedโ€ when it is complete. This should not take more than a minute or two. When you click on this, you will have the opportunity to share this report using conventional methods such as email.
