CALayerInvalidGeometry'CALayerInvalidGeometry "

Question

I am making a tabbed application and using the CloudMade API. I have a working project in an application with one view that I am trying to copy to a tabbed window.

I copied and embedded everything, set up the project settings and all that. The view of the FirstViewController presented in the bookmark is exactly the same as the old application with one view. As always, when I launch the application, I get this error:

Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'CALayerInvalidGeometry', reason: 'CALayer bounds contains NaN: [inf inf; nan nan]' 

I tried to make Google, but nothing worked. This is my first tabbed app, so I'm not sure if there are any things I should pay attention to. I'm not even sure if a section of code or an error report is pasted here. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you very much!

EDIT . Hey. It seems that the controller with tabs has nothing to do with this. I copied it again for a new application with one view, and it does not work again. I should probably mention (I didn’t think it had any meaning before) that the working application does NOT use a storyboard, only one xib file. 2 doesn't work (with tabs and one view) DOES I don’t even know where to start. The problem was that I did not associate the output of the mapView map with the RMMapView object in the storyboard. Now it works.

In your method -[ParkerAssistantFirstViewController viewDidLoad] you send a recalculateGeometry message to the recalculateGeometry instance. RMPath then sets the boundaries of a CALayer .

Looking at the exception message, we see that RMPath sets the layer borders to the rectangle [inf inf; nan nan] [inf inf; nan nan] . The word inf is short for "infinity", so your rectangle origin is at infinity. The word nan means "not-a-number", so your rectangle size is completely invalid. This is what CALayer complains CALayer .

Looking at the variables in your first edit, I see that scale is 0. This is suspicious. If this is a view scale factor, then it is probably invalid. If this is what you control, try setting it to 1 (or some other small positive number).

Have you linked to QuartzCore.framework? I am sure that CALayer requires QuartzCore. You can do this by selecting the tab Target -> Build Phases Tab - Link Binary with Libraries. click the plus sign and scroll down and select QuartzCore to associate it with your project.
