Install Mercurial Module for Windows without problems

I am trying to install the following mercurial-2.2.1.win-amd64-py2.6.exe package to add it to my Puppet manifest.

I already tried with / s / q with no results.

A better approach might be to use the Chocolatey package manager to install Mercury :

doll module sets rismoney / chocolate

Then you can install mercurial (or most window programs):

package { 'mercurial': ensure => installed, provider => 'chocolatey', }

Mercurial uses Inno Setup for its .exe installers. You can choose the following option: /VERYSILENT .

They also usually offer .msi installations for download, but recently released packages are usually released as .exe before versions of .msi become available.

The Inno Setup command-line parameter documentation is located at: http://www.jrsoftware.org/ishelp/topic_setupcmdline.htm

Tip: Whenever I look for the command line option for the command line, I read the chocolateyInstall.ps1 file for the chocolate package.

For example: for hg, go to https://chocolatey.org/packages/hg and click on the "show" link next to "tools \ chocolateyInstall.ps1" (in the "Files" section) and find the variable named "$ silentArgs".
