MySQL max_user_connections - recommended settings?

We have a good MySQL job with ~ 1800 queries per second. Our max_user_connections is currently 350, and we encounter it sometimes when we deploy some experiments.

However, it would be much smoother if we set it to 600 to have some air when doing poor manual queries.

Are there any disadvantages when setting max_user_connections to a high value? What do you recommend?

Taken from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/server-system-variables.html#sysvar_max_user_connections "

max_user_connections

Allowed Values

Default 0

Range 0 .. 4294967295

The maximum number of concurrent connections allowed for any MySQL user account. A value of 0 (default) means "no limit".

Thus, the only drawback will be that ... the server may end up with a resource if it is set too high ... depends on the server configuration.
