Rectangular selection in Xcode

In Visual Studio, I can change + shift and use the arrow keys to select a “field” of text in any text area (that is, select part of a line, rather than an entire line, to several lines)

Is there an equivalent way to do this in Xcode?

Try holding the Alt key while selecting text - it allows you to select rectangular areas.

Using Alt and Shift does not work like using Alt , and the arrow keys are tied to the default move, and with the addition of Shift, it selects while moving.
