Where does Lynx store its cookies?

I was wondering where the lynx text based web browser stores its cookies. By looking at the manual, you can specify how to enable cookies, etc., but could not find a way to delete the lynx stored cookies. So I could delete them manually, but not sure where they are!

On the man page:

-cookie_file=FILENAME

indicates the file used to read cookies. If none are specified, the default value is ~ / .lynx_cookies for most systems, but ~ / cookies for MS-DOS.
