How to compile Android 4.1 / 4.2 Camera + Gallery app together

The Android camera and gallery are combined in Android 4.1 and higher.

Now I want to play with the Android 4.2 Camera app and try porting it to my old devices.

How to compile https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Gallery2/ and https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Camera/

As for the sources, etc., both of them must be compiled together. However, the camera source does not have a manifest, which makes porting to Eclipse impossible.

So I need help:

1.How to import both of these projects?

2.How to combine them together as one single apk (I tried to combine the res and src folders, but still a lot of error compilation).

3. The source of the camera, by calling pop-up menus, refer to R.styleable links to populate the list, not the usual arrays that I cannot fix. The problem becomes manifold when I set the build goal for ICS because R.styleable links refuse to cooperate. Removing them leads to empty popup menus.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A Java project can have several source folders (an Android project is a subtype of a Java project in this sense).
