How to count hardcoded string appearance in Visual Studio?

In Eclipse, I can search for a hard-coded string that will indicate the counter and where it occurs.

I could not find how to do this in Visual Studio, and my google search yields nothing.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Press ctrl+f . In the search box, select " find in files " in the upper left corner, rather than Quick find . This will show the search result in a new window, and you will get all the statistics at the bottom of the window.

As in Visual Studio 2015, you need to do Ctrl + Shift + F to pull out the full Find in Files menu, which will then give you statistics when searching in the current document.
