Your license is not valid in diff tool

I recently tried the beta version of Semantic Merge from Codice Software, all of a sudden, when I try to use the diff tool (either in Visual Studio or manually from the desktop), I get the following error:

Your license is not valid; you cannot use the diff tool. Please contact support.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, and I do not see a newer version or any updates for the product, and it worked yesterday. Do I need to buy a license or is something broken on my machine?

It seems that your current license is not valid for VB.Net (it is valid only for CSharp ).

Our first beta was for CSharp only, and you may have already created a trial for this beta.

To obtain a VB.Net license, you will need to request a new license for the new language. Therefore, follow these steps:

  • Open the SemanticMerge tool (allowing merging)
  • Click the Get License button.
  • Get a new license from the website

You can also get it directly from our site . Hope this helps.
