How to add a timer to Google Forms for school quiz?

I help a school teacher, and we have a test for knowledge of English using Google Forms, which is divided into 3 sections. We would like to be able to set the time for each section (for example, section A = 10 minutes, section B = 10 minutes section C = 40 minutes). We would like the student to be able to see the countdown in each section that they do, is this possible? I'm new to Google Apps Script, and I saw the JS code for timers, but I don't know how to put them together in a Google form.

None of these are currently available on Google Forms. You can wait a couple of weeks, as something about forms of scripting will be announced at the annual Google conference, Google input / output. See here: https://developers.google.com/events/io/sessions/327782631

Update: there is still nothing available in the script to answer this question even after all this time. Please check Rubén's answer for a reason (and some options).

Google Forms Editor does not allow you to add custom JavaScript, so you cannot add a timer directly to the form.

One option is to programmatically refuse to submit responses to forms using the Google Apps Script Forms Service , in particular, by stopping the receipt of responses through the setAcceptingResponses (enabled) method .

Warning regarding the use of time-controlled triggers : the time when a Script rans may be slightly randomized.

By the way, Google Forms now has special functions for creating quizzes, see Create and evaluate quizzes with Google Forms . We hope that the timer function will be available soon.

I was looking for a similar answer.

Weej jamal. One way is to use Qualtrics. It has a “time” question that can automatically send the page after the time has ended.

So, if your sections can be placed on 3 different pages, it’s pretty simple: put a timeline question at the top of each section with time settings.
