Kohana_Exception [0]: A valid cookie salt is required. Please set Cookie :: $ salt

Question

I am working on this tutorial ( http://kowsercse.com/2011/09/04/kohana-tutorial-beginners/ ) and ran this error message:

Kohana_Exception [ 0 ]: A valid cookie salt is required. Please set Cookie::$salt. 

I am n00b and don’t even know where to look for Cookie::$salt in the application.

You must provide salt, as you can read in the official documentation

 //bootstrap.php Cookie::$salt = 'foobar'; 

I can recommend the white paper as well as the API browser . When you learn how Kohana works, you will learn primarily about the meaning of error messages and how you can deal with them yourself.

Find the file: bootstrap.php (www \ kohana \ application).

Insert this:

Cookie :: $ salt = 'foobar';

This will be good.

This is not in the default bootstrap.php file. I added it to the file, after Kohana :: modules and before the routes. and now it works fine ... (copied)
