Running JBoss 7.1.1.Final as a Windows Service

What are the correct instructions for starting JBoss 7 as a Windows service?

Configuration: Windows Server 2008 64 bit,
Java version "1.6.0_26" 64 bit,
JBoss 7.1.1.Final.

I can not find any official guide on how to do this.
Thanks.

Well, I found out that these two links will be the most relevant sources:
- Jboss 7.1.1 as a Windows service ,
- Running JBoss AS 7 as a Windows Service

The strangest thing for me is that there are no specific native connectors in http://www.jboss.org/jbossweb/downloads/jboss-native-2-0-10.html for JBoss 7 .
Therefore, we need to change the JBoss 5 connector (the service.bat file specifically) to reflect the structural changes in the JBoss 7 version.

The updated service.bat is taken from here (all changes are shown in bold).
The changes are as follows:

  • We must change the name of the service (Jboss 5 to Jboss 7)
  • Switch all run.bat calls to standalone.bat calls
  • Replace all shutdown calls with a new command (since there is no longer shutdown.bat! Ignoring this can cause windows to shutdown the command!)
  • (Optional) Modify JAVA_OPTS.

PS Consider reading this article as another way. However, I have not tried it yet.

It looks like an exhaustive reference.

First of all, get the appropriate native connectors from http://www.jboss.org/jbossweb/downloads/jboss-native-2-0-10 (x86 for a 32-bit host, x64 for 64 bits). If you are not sure, use the 32-bit version as they will work on 64-bit systems too, but the opposite is true. Unzip the archive into the JBoss main folder. Then make a few changes to the service.bat file

(hereinafter several modifications are listed)
