Where does magento store its cached images?

I know that magento resizes the original product images and caches it several times with different sizes depending on its needs.

  • Where are these saved images (path) stored?
  • Are they the ones that will be deleted if you clear the image cache from cache management?
  • If I had to manually cache some images, where would I have to cause them to be deleted when you cleared the cache from cache management?

  • All cached images saved in the BaseUrl/media/catalog/product/cache folder

The answer here is changed: the images are already saved separately in the regular cache, in the media / directory / product / cache not in var / cache /.

If you look in System> Cache Management, you will see a separate button for cleaning only these images, so if you really need to clear the image cache, use this button.
