Google Drive "Sorry, there was an error opening this file. Please try again."

I created a web application integrated with sdk on Google. Since a few days ago, users can no longer open files by clicking on the file name in the "Disk Application" application, instead the message "Sorry, an error occurred while opening this file. Please try again." I really appreciate the pointer in the right direction on how to resolve this.

Both API access and the SDK for disks are included in the project API console. Everything works fine by right-clicking → open with → by selecting an application. Everything works fine when users directly access files from my application.

When I right-click on a file and browse authorized applications, no applications are displayed. I tried changing the settings of the OAuth application to request more permissions, no luck. This makes me think that authorization is OK, but some configuration is incorrect for the Google UI. I'm not sure if this was caused by me or by a change in the environment, but none of the URLs or configuration has changed between people who can open files when they click and get an error.

Google's forum products seem to suggest that this happens for large files (> 2 MB), but our files are only a few KB, so this does not seem to be the reason. Understanding related issues, I could not find anything useful.

Can someone point me in the right direction to look for additional information? The driver pages indicate that this is the place to go for help. Or, alternatively, is there a way to get commercial support from the Google people who control this tag? I have spent too much time on this and I am happy to pay for help.
