Does the profile delete the profile due to the expiration of the application?

We have an application that we distribute to employees using a special training profile.

We now have a business requirement to remove the provisioning profile from the provisioning portal (although it will remain on the devices).

I get the impression that using ad hoc distribution periodically checks with Apple servers (although I believe that this is checking the correctness of the profile stored on the device with respect to the certificate stored on the server and should not affect any changes in the provisioning profile, if the certificate is not revoked, right?).

My question is: -

Will the ad hoc Provision profile from our Provisioning Portal remove the app from running on employee devices?

As far as I know, this is not happening. The profile is checked only during installation, there is no way to "cancel" the profile, for example, with certificates. Thus, the application will still work and can be installed using the old profile file.
