I'm currently trying to play PlayN, and the first test bench is up and running, so now I have switched to something more advanced: after the show-off example for simulating liquids with AS3 and box2d , I managed to get it all working, except for the blur. Fortunately, PlayN combines with the LWJGL hook, so I decided to do it, but although I know a few things in OpenGL, my wisdom comes to an end. I have some basic ideas on how to do this in OpenGL, and, of course, I know how to change colors and vertex things in general - anyone for some tips on filters, in particular convolution? The problem is that PlayN doesnβt really offer a fast API for internal image presentation ... other than OpenGL.
I have my "game", everything is set up ... there are several levels; one of them, the "dynamic layers" are constantly fed by small images-textured dots (just tiny gifs) that map to the physical body. they all fall, disappear and collapse properly. Now I need some pretty effective tools to set the blur filter at this dynamic level.
Does anyone have any experience with OpenGL shaders and can provide me something to get you started?
