Liferay: Role Based Permissions Check

Question

I want to check whether a registered user has rights to perform a specific action on a portlet. Let's say there is a “Create Product” button on the page, and I would like to hide it if someone other than the administrator logs in. How do you check this, both in the interface and in the end.
