Vs2012 web project imports existing files and folders

Question

How can I take an existing website (files and folders) that exists on my hard drive into a VS2012 project?

I am trying to select files / folders in Explorer and drag and drop into the project, but this will not work in 2012.

I am trying to get an existing site imported into an empty website project, and I do not want all additional VS files to be added as part of the permissions to use the win forms project.

In VS2012 Solution Explorer :

Right click on your solution name> Add > Existing Website

Here you can select existing website files.
