Jabref: export a subset in bibtex format?

Jabref supports exporting selected records in different formats, but I wonder if it can actually be exported to bibtex format. It is useful to select some links to create a smaller database that contains, for example, only links to a topic or those that you cite in a particular article. Is it possible to automatically do this?

To export as a badge, you do not have to go to the export menu, but instead: File> Save selected as:
