Git and hudson / jenkins - how to do only incremental builds?

How do I configure hudson / jenkins to check only files / submodules, etc. that have changed since the last night build? In our build system (ant / ivy), if verified, it is created. So, I only need to check what has changed in order to perform incremental build.
