Mesh bag in R

Question

I am looking for an R package that can provide a framework for interfacing with Airborne-Cluster Scanning (ALS) data and polygonal meshes. I think it is quite simple to use RCPP for interaction:

Libraries

• Openmesh
• libLas
• Pointclouds
• Cgal
• meshlab

Requested Functions

To name a few:

• Mesh lidar interaction
  • clarify / coarse triangulated mesh according to ALS
  • interpolate height from ALS
• Insert points / lines / holes into the grid
• Mesh Relief
• Reading and writing in different mesh formats ( .stl,.2dm , ...)

PS: I would also be interested in implementations in julia or haskell .
