With the release of Windows 8, it seems that the Windows Mobile Device Center is no longer working. This component was required for the "Cradle" of the device to obtain a network connection.

You need to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center and install the latest (dec 2012).

Go to the Microsoft website and download Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista (32 or 64 bit for your hardware). There Windows 8 no option for Windows 8 , but the Vista version works fine in Windows 8 .
