Windows Mobile / Embedded Device Emulator in Windows 8

We design and develop applications that run on Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded, as it is the operating system that ships with most industrial barcode scanners right now.

Give it up, we often use the Windows Mobile device emulator to simulate our software and demonstrate clients. With the release of Windows 8, it seems that the Windows Mobile Device Center is no longer working. This component was required for the "Cradle" of the device to obtain a network connection.

Is there a way to make the Windows Mobile / Embedded emulator work on Windows 8?

You need to uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center and install the latest (dec 2012).

Go to the Microsoft website and download Windows Mobile Device Center for Vista (32 or 64 bit for your hardware). There Windows 8 no option for Windows 8 , but the Vista version works fine in Windows 8 .
