Tridion UI 2012 -Error 424 occurred while rendering a page Required object: "SiteEdit

One of my applications was upgraded from SiteEdit 1.3 Service Pack 2 (SP2) to SiteEdit 2009. Now I upgrade it to Tridion UI 2012. I restored the cm_SiteEdit.dll and cc_SiteEdit2.dll DLLs. In the code inside the templates, the objects "SiteEdit" and "SiteEdit2" are available. The SiteEdit2 object is initialized correctly, and the SiteEdit object is thrown below the error -

Error 424 while rendering the page. Required object: 'SiteEdit'.

Is it possible to go with this implementation in order to maintain development efforts? if yes, please help solve the problem. otherwise, your valuable suggestions / materials would be most welcome.

This error usually occurs because you did not register "SiteEdit" as a Script extension in the SDL Tridion Content Manager configuration. From your description, I understand that it should point to the 1.3 Script extension.

Once you do this, be sure to reload the Tridion COM + package for the change to take effect.

Peter has already answered your question, but I would recommend not using the old SiteEdit object. You must update the template code in accordance with the Tridion 2012 user interface.
