Import data into v1 expression engine from xml

Question

I want to import XML data as records into a website running the expression engine v1.7. Are there any extensions, modules, procedures, etc. that make this easier? Please note that I do not control the provided XML data.

I have a plugin for EE1 called XMLGrab that can help:

XMLGrab allows you to import XML files into EE1 electronic journals. It can be downloaded from the site:

with some brief instructions.

I would suggest taking a look at DataGrab from Andrew Weaver. It allows you to use several different import methods, including XML.

Its support may be a little hit and skip, but it is usually quite active in the EE community.

There is also the Solspace Importer, which I believe does the same, although I have no personal experience with this.

Unfortunately, there are currently no add-ons available for EE v1.7 that will import XML data for you.

Solspace Importer and DataGrab require EE2.x.

NOTE. Solspace Importer previously worked with EE1.x, but they no longer sell it. You can try emailing them to see if they will sell them directly to you.
