Android random debugging debugging

So, I'm trying to debug why my phone accidentally reboots (and hopes this is not my application). The only pattern I noticed is that sometimes when you try to unlock it, the phone is turned off, and I have to hold the power button to turn it on again.

I believe this started when I wrote the application widget, but I can’t be sure.

adb bugreport reveals nothing interesting, no kernel panics anyway

------ LAST KMSG (/proc/last_kmsg) ------ *** /proc/last_kmsg: No such file or directory ------ LAST PANIC CONSOLE (/data/dontpanic/apanic_console) ------ *** /data/dontpanic/apanic_console: No such file or directory ------ LAST PANIC THREADS (/data/dontpanic/apanic_threads) ------ *** /data/dontpanic/apanic_threads: No such file or directory

Logcat does not stop after rebooting, so I wrote a small service that now writes it to disk (we will see if I find anything there)

Has anyone else done this before? How do you feel about normal debugging of this type of problem?

My phone is the gamma galaxy gsm 4.1.2, but I also noticed this on 4.1.1

Try this ... set up "acra" - Android crash notifier [1]. Its open source and available on github [2] If your application ever crashes and crashes the android, logs from acra can help debug the situation.
