Tridion translations without sdl products

Question

I tried to find an example where on the Internet how to do translations in Tridion. I was not lucky to find anything other than mentioning the translation manager. Can anyone point out a resource or best practices on how to do this?

More: I want to know how people send content for translations and then return it to Tridion. I saw several messages about the event system. I am looking for a great start to the image - localize - export - import - service phases.

This is really the wrong place to ask this question, but I think that it still deserves a proper answer.

SDL is, among other things, the Global Information Management company. Everything SDL does has language / localization / globalization for it. Including, of course, his translation tools and services.

Thus, SDL created and supported (over the years) connectors on different CM platforms, and obviously SDL Tridion has a lot of integration here. Good information on how this works here is courtesy of Robert Curlett.

If you are trying to integrate Tridion with providers of other languages, I suggest you ask the language providers for such a connector. The Tridion connector was available from the SDL prior to the acquisition of Tridion, I suspect that if other language manufacturers are serious about connecting to WCM platforms, they will also offer a connector for Tridion.

If you do not want to work with the Translation Manager. I think that the only solution is to localize your component in the corresponding publication and record the publication / country-specific content manually. To translate your content, you can turn to any third-party tools for help (search on Google). even then you must also enter the content input manually in tridion cms.

In addition to the good comments from Ram and Nuno, you may need to investigate using the Workflow Engine from the SDL Tridion. It offers the ability to write your own automatic actions (for example, send or receive goods for translation by e-mail or web service). This might be an effective solution for you, assuming there are no connectors for the translation services that you intend to use.
