Error. One or more projects in the solution were not loaded correctly

In VisualStudio2010, I changed the project name and the solution name. When I try to open a solution, I get this error:

One or more projects in the solution were not loaded correctly.

Any idea why I am getting this error? And how to fix it?

Try opening the .csproj file in notepad and make sure all the links and paths are correct.

In my situation, I had a GlobalSection duplicated in my solution. I use TFS, and sometimes it has problems combining configuration from several developers at the same time.

Open your solution (.sln) in NotePad ++ and find this tag and remove it from the duplicated one.

GlobalSection(TeamFoundationVersionControl) = preSolution

You may need to read the latest projects for a solution.

I have the same problem when using VC2012. My steps for this are: Control Panel → Program and Features → Right-click on VC2012 → Choose Restore → restart Windows → reopen the project. It is working. The problem is related to VC2012 corruption.
