What iphone sdk API can I use to query the iOS word dictionary?

I am working on a game on iphone. Is there a way to query a word database available in iOS? The database is very extensive and accessible when the user selects words. (A popup window contains a definition button)

You can also select LexiContext . It has a nice kit for offline access to the whole dictionary, with the same general class and easily accessible functions for getting a list of words or descriptions.

But it is not free, but it provides a sample free sdk for testing with similar to all functions and access only to words with the letter 'a'.
