Which tag should the news headline use?

I use WordPress to post news. What tags should be used for the title? h1 or h2 ? Which tag should be used on the main page and which tag should be used on the news page?

<h1> tags should be used to indicate the most important heading page.

Is the title of a news article the most important? It depends.

• If the page is about in a news article, its title is probably the most important .
• If you're on the listing news page, it's probably not the most important .

In this case, on the main page where you post these articles, you should probably use <h2> or <h3> . On a separate page in the article, this should be the top heading.

And no, I don’t think the site logo / slogan should have an <h1> on every page. Perhaps only on the home page. This is definitely not the most important title on the page each . I mean, when you come and read an article, you read a dang article, not look at the site logo.

Madara's advice is good. Use h1 for headers on individual posts. Use two or three h2 tags in the text for important sections.

But don't forget the importance of the url, you need keywords.

On the news page that lists all the news, make your h1 something like "Keyword News."

So a libertarian politics website would mean that your h1 is on the Libertarian News from sitename.tld news list page or something like that.
