What is a good and easy tool for Scrum Project Management in game development?

I am looking for an effective, easy-to-learn tool for Scrum project management, not for professional use, but for use in my dissertation on the use of Scrum in game development. Basically, I want to visualize the production process of a hypothetical game. Some fragments of the production process should be really detailed to indicate my meaning, so that mostly user stories, tasks, burning schedules, etc. Are required.

I use Scrum, Kanban and some Lean methods to eliminate waste. I also want to use extreme programming techniques in this production process, including TDD and Continuous Integration.

I have no experience in professional project management, so I need something that is quite simple to use for newb, like me.

Can anyone recommend such a tool? While I was thinking about TargetProcess and ScrumWorks. Thanks.

Boards and Post-Its.

No seriously.

Drop in Excel for your schedule. This combination resets easily to keep it up to date and use.

I would recommend them in this order:

If you are combined, use the Post-its and Excel chart and chart, as in the answer above. If you do not, you can choose Trello , which is basically ... a post-its board. However, no schedules.

Or the Pivotal Tracker , which is intended, in particular, for managing Scrum projects (creating some functions for Kanban). It performs all points and speed calculations for you and some graphs. Sometimes it's too “prescriptive." You do not do Scrum according to the book, you may have some difficulties to overcome the built-in life cycle.

Both are very intuitive and easy to use. Trello is free; Pivotal Tracker is free for individual use. The larger your team, the higher the monthly subscription.
