I am launching a new project that will be hosted on Windows Azure. I use RavenDb as a backend, and I would like to use CQRS and event sources.
I read good reviews about the Jonathan EventStore and it will fit perfectly into my architecture as it is a thin layer and can use RavenDb as a store. Now I noticed that release 3.0 (the last official) is the year, and the new 3.1 has not yet been released (there is some activity in the branch). I would like to upgrade to version 3.1, as it has an integrated CommonDomain project, but I have no problems with 3.0 link and the current CommonDomain separatelly.
I'm just wondering if the EventStore is actively developing and will be supported, especially since Greg Young released his EventStore (geteventstore.com). I am a little reluctant to follow this, as he comes with him to his own resistance and AFAIK. I could not save my events in my RavenDb.
So, to summarize:
- Is EventStore Jonathan in real time?
- If so, should I go to the current official release 3.0 and link to the CommonDomain project separately?
- Is branch 3.1 connected (with CommonDomain join)?
- Should I switch to the Greg Young EventStore?
- Or maybe I should study Lokad.CQRS? (I don't think he uses Jonathan's EventStore)
PS. I do not mind deploying the joliver EventStore and making corrections / minor functions.
