Is it possible, either through some settings, or by developing an application to take control of robots.txt and sitemap.xml for the shopify store?
I tried setting up URL redirection, but it seems that these pre-generated files are used before URL redirection occurs. In any case, the application can get around this?
Looking back at the api, this does not seem likely, but I thought that I would check here before abandoning this idea. Right now, the only solution I can think of is to buy a separate domain name that will be in front of the store and then use mod_rewrite to essentially proxy all the URLs that are not robots.txt and sitemap xmls in store.shopify . com URL.
Will this decision succeed?
I know that this is probably not very effective, but from a primitive understanding, I think it might work. I assume that there is no way that all links to the repository of subdomains point to the repository of the main domain when they are not connected via dns, but this will be less of a problem than having a default sitemap.
