OpenStreetMap Platform (OSM)

Question

Has anyone used any of the following heatmap api / scritpts for OpenStreetMap:

• Bjoern Hoehrmann OpenLayers Heatmap Layer: http://www.websitedev.de/temp/openlayers-heatmap-layer.html
• Heatmap by Patrick Wied: http://www.patrick-wied.at/static/heatmapjs/

I am looking for a free heatmap api program that can be used in a production environment (several thousand hits per day), so if anyone has used any of the above in an environment with a high number of visitors, please share your experience; otherwise, let me know if you know of any other free scripts for the OSM heatmap.
