How can I profile Python functions in turn in the Google App Engine?

I would like to use line_profiler to profile one large method line by line in a GoogleAppEngine application.

Unfortunately, GAE does not seem to allow importing .so libraries, even to the local dev server.

How could I achieve my goal? I would be happy to use only the python solution, if it is there, or accept suggestions on how to write your own.

Use gae_mini_profiler .

It can track all function calls and their timings (tools), or it can periodically check the call stack to find out in which functions time is spent during a request (fetch). Here you can see an example of this action - http://mini-profiler.appspot.com/
