IOS, what should I install in my project?

After making some minor changes to my application and downloading it to the latest version of xcode, I noticed the following settings.

Should I remove armv6? An option in the drop-down list says armv7, armv7s.

What do i need to install?

If you do not want to support iPhone 3G and lower (not 3GS ), you can remove armv6 . If you do this, you will only need to support iOS 4.* and lower, and I donโ€™t think you really need it.

So you can remove armv6 from the list.

As it shown on the picture. If you choose both architectures, the product will be executed on all iOS devices, including iPhone 3G. If you need to run your code on iPhone 3GS or higher. You can install armv7 in the settings.

  • Install ARMv6 if you want to support iPhone (original) and iPhone 3G.
  • Install ARMv7 if you want to support iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
  • Install ARMv7 if you want to support iPhone 5

Here 's a little explanation about the basics of iPhone processor technology.

For the record-only iPhone (original), 3G and 3GS were discontinued.
