My iPhone application will not work with mailboxes in the new iPhone 5 simulator. How do I get it in my mailbox?

I just downloaded the new version of Xcode and launched the application that I was developing. For some reason, he did not receive the mailbox. I want to add the letterboxing effect until I get the app for a new screen.

Thanks!

All the glory of @Hemang , this answer is from his comment above, and I will be happy to delete this answer as a sign of respect to him.

I had the exact problem. Both actions must be performed:

  • Reset Simulator: from the menu, iOS Simulator> Reset Content and Settings ....
  • Clear the Xcode project (⇧⌘K). Personally, I like to clear the entire derived data catalog (⌥⇧⌘K).

In the simulator, uninstall the development application. This will remove residues. Now run again, without a new launch image.

I think the easiest and fastest way to switch to a letter in a box is simply:

  • remove application from device
  • Uncheck the box next to “Dependent on default value” on the “File Inspector” page
  • Clean and rebuild the application.

If you want to return to the full 4-inch form factor, there is no need to uninstall the application again, just double-check the default Target Dependency field:

.

It is only when returning to the letter in the box that you need to remove the application from the device, because when you simply delete the target, and not the application, the Default file - by default - is on the device.

I am building on a device, not a simulator, so in my opinion it will be much easier.

I had the same problem. I added a Default-568h@2x.png image to see how my application would look. It looked awful. So I deleted the file and the application was no longer a mailbox.

To fix this, reset your simulator (note you lose anything else on the simulator)

Reset the simulator

Then in Xcode, Clean , then Build

On the simulator, go to

Hardware → Device → iPhone (Retina 4-inch)

This should show your inbox application
