Windows 8 App Cert Kit no longer working?

I'm trying to do an App Cert check on my Metro app, but it will not work anymore! Does anyone else have the same problem? I search all over the Internet, even with one related result.

It worked successfully a few hours ago, but now it just does not start. A rotating cursor indicates that it is about to open - but it is not.

I tried to restart the computer, open / close visual studio, open / close my application. It just doesn't work. I tried to work as Admin, I even tried to run it from my actual location - instead of just using the shortcut icon on the Start screen, but it just won’t work.

What to do?

I managed to solve this problem.

Run CMD.exe as an administrator and enter the following commands:

• cd C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\8.0\App Certification Kit
• appcert.exe reset

CMD should now say:

Successfully reset test setup.

Now enter:

• appcertui

A Windows Application Certification Kit should now appear.
