Rich Snippet not appearing on Google search results page

About a month ago, we implemented Rich Snippets on the product detail pages for our e-commerce site ( example ).

We used the http://schema.org/ syntax for structured data, as it seems the Google route is moving forward.

The data turned out to be correct in the Rich Snippet Testing Tool , and the data began to appear in Google Webmaster Tools.

However, data has not yet been found in SERP.

We have followed Google’s rich data reference for this email and still haven’t received any results. Is this a case of expectation?

Here is additional information that makes it even more perplexing, we first went with the implementation of Microformats, and within 24 hours the data began to appear in SERP. However, we moved away from this because the Schema.org approach looked better.

I believe this is one of the reasons explained in my Wiki post in

http://wiki.goodrelations-vocabulary.org/FFAQ#Why_is_Google_not_showing_rich_snippets_for_my_pages.3F

While this applies to GoodRelations markup, the situation should be the same for schema.org.

If you added GoodRelations (either manually or through the store’s extension module) to your store and still don’t get rich snippets of Google search results, this may have one of the following reasons:

  • Google has not yet crawled your page or pages. Google only allocates a limited amount of crawl time to a site, depending on its global significance. Maybe Google just hasn't indexed your page yet. Wait 2 to 8 weeks; -)
  • The markup is invalid. Try Google Validator. If this shows a rich snippet in the preview, you may need to wait 4 to 12 weeks for Google to notice and list your pages. If it does not show a rich code fragment, you either do not have valid GoodRelations markup on the page, you do not have the properties that Google requires (for example, gr: validThrough for prices), the item has expired or you use markup for which Google does not show rich fragments. Google currently displays snippets for products and offers only.
  • Google does not see that your page has changed. Your XML map (http://example.com/sitemap.xml or similar) does not contain the lastmod attribute or the lastmod attribute was not updated after you added GoodRelations / schema.org. This attribute is important for crawlers to notice which pages need to be reindexed.
  • Low ranking of your positions. Your product pages are ranked low, and what you see in your Google results is category pages or other pages that summarize multiple items. GoodRelations store extensions only add markup to the "deep" pages of elements, because they are best suited for rich snippets. Use the product name / title for one of your products and limit the Google search on your site to an additional site: www.example.com.
