About CONFIG_NO_HZ in the kernel

So, if CONFIG_NO_HZ is installed, I believe that it will make a brushless kernel. But I believe that this simply means that when the system is idle, it can become painless in order to save energy. When it works, it still remains the core, right? Thanks:>

Essentially, yes.

There are ongoing projects to make a periodic tick go away also when it is not idle, but that a lot of work with many changes, and it is unclear whether it will ever be completed.
