Recommendations for Android: Layered Layouts

I have a screen with search options. Clicking on an option displays a dialog or redirects to another screen, so I canโ€™t use the โ€œSettingsโ€ application approach: showing the next screen on the right.

On the tablet, my screen looks like this:

This is not very neat. I think we all read wooonderful design guidelines for Android, offering solutions only for the simplest problems like turning:

I did not find guidelines for layered layouts other than "add list view and view details on the same screen, yo." Should I split my ListView into smaller ListViews (each section in a ListView)? Are there other apps that do this?

Technically, I think the easiest way would be to use fragments. An example with a very similar layout in Pro Android 4 .

I am sure that in this situation you will find the Fragment class. More information here: http://developer.android.com/guide/components/fragments.html
