Error editing clients from the back of Magento

I suddenly began to encounter this error and do not need help.

In the "Client Management" section, when I add a new client, it displays perfectly, all the correct values. But whenever I try to edit a newly added client, I get an error page in Magento.

An error occurred while processing your request.

And later, when I return to the "Client Management" grid, the "Client With" column for this client record will change to this value "November 30 -1 01:00:00"

Does anyone can understand what might be wrong?

This is an error in the var / report folder,

Sorry, I also realized that although the code I wrote atleast allows me to edit my records without any error, it still changes Customer Since to a random date value, like 30 No -01 01:00:00.

But also, if I try to create a back order for a customer also created using the back end of magento, I get the following error

Again, I guess that this error also has something to do with the Date factor?

This seems to be a bug in Magento related to date formats in different locales. When editing a client, the created_at field is edited and displayed in the current locale. For me in the UK it was DD / MM / YYYY. When the “Save” button is clicked, it tries to put this value directly into the database and fail because it is not an acceptable database format.

I fixed this by adding the following function to Mage_Customer_Model_Form. A better solution would be to create a class rewrite. An even better solution would be for Magento to go through any fields that are converted using the language and then convert them back to the iso format before trying to paste them back into the database. Without this possibility (and, perhaps, I don’t already know it), this problem will most likely be repeated, as far as I can tell.

 public function compactData(array $data) { if (array_key_exists('created_at', $data)) { $data['created_at'] = Mage::app()->getLocale()->date($data['created_at'])->getIso(); } return parent::compactData($data); }

EDIT:

Ready to dig a little more. I noticed that the dob field is working fine. This is because the field itself is configured with all the correct bits to tell datepicker to send the date in MM / DD / YYYY format.

Magento seems to be configured to solve this problem in several ways. CustomerController has an unused function _filterPostData () that calls _filterDates (), which does a better job (I suppose) than my solution above.

I changed my fix to use this function, although it needs to be called from the control area. Again, I do not recommend changing the kernel code, but my new fix is in Mage_Adminhtml_CustomerController :: saveAction (). I added a second line:

 $formData = $customerForm->extractData($this->getRequest(), 'account'); $formData = $this->_filterDates($formData, array('created_at')); /// added this line

According to Oscar Reales post above, changing the created_at backend_model attribute in the eav_attribute table eav_attribute my problem, however the value I used was the same as dob one

 eav/entity_attribute_backend_datetime

This worked for me and, starting from 10/31/2012, showed the correct result, eav/entity_attribute_backend_time_created led to the fact that a random event was previously indicated. I checked this by editing existing accounts created on a date, created an account in the backend, and created an account in the interface. Everything worked fine. By the way, my language is Great Britain.

Fighting the same problem here. So I tried it on a clean installation of Magento 1.6.1.0, and the following happens.

  • Create a client in the interface
  • the entry in the Customer Entity table contains the created_at column with value = 2011-12-15 10:14:45
  • In admin> client> manage clients> edit the client and click save
  • record in the table "Customer Entity Value" * created_at * changed to 2015-12-11 00:00:00

As I said, you can do this update the backend_model attribute using a custom module and add this line to your custom script:

 Mage::getSingleton('customer/customer')->getAttribute('created_at') ->setBackendModel('eav/entity_attribute_backend_time_created') ->setAttributeModel(new Zend_Db_Expr('NULL')) ->setInputFilter('date') ->save();

I have this problem too, but I found a way to change it without any encoding.
First of all, if you get this error, it is caused by setting the date, Magento 1.6 and EE1.11 started updating their database model to be able to use Oracle and other SQL DBs. This is why they should change the type of the database table from datetime to timestamp , because it can simply be analyzed by the database itself. Below is the solution:

  • First, if you have this error, you need to go to the database to update the customer_entity table. Find the created_at field, if it is empty, give it a real value, I'm so shocked that Magento now allows you to edit the created_at date in the admin panel, I don’t know how useful it will be.
  • After that, you will receive the correct date, and you can view the admin client editing form. Since my site is built on EE1.11, it should be the same as 1.6.0 or 1.6.1. I used AU as the default locale, so there were errors.
    You should go to ConfigurationCatalogDate & Time Custom Options and make sure that it uses the AU DD/MM/YYY format, and if this is done before your site starts living, everything should be fine.

We hope for this help, since most developers will not go through all the settings before starting coding. Hooray!

Assuming you are using Magento 1.6.x (you did not mention the version), lines No. 3 and No. 4 of your report

 #3 /home/wpfsl/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/Block/Customer/Edit/Tab/View.php(76): Mage_Core_Model_Locale->date(false) #4 /home/wpfsl/public_html/app/design/adminhtml/default/default/template/customer/tab/view.phtml(36): Mage_Adminhtml_Block_Customer_Edit_Tab_View->getCreateDate()

indicate that the created_at field for your clients * does not contain a valid date / time:

 public function getCreateDate() { $date = Mage::app()->getLocale()->date($this->getCustomer()->getCreatedAtTimestamp()); return $this->formatDate($date, Mage_Core_Model_Locale::FORMAT_TYPE_MEDIUM, true); }

Note that Mage_Adminhtml_Block_Customer_Edit_Tab_View cannot format an existing (but invalid) value of the created_at field.

Your real problem is somewhere else, earlier in the record life cycle.

I would start to check if adding a new client really leads to a valid created_at .

* customer_since is only a virtual mapping of created_at .

I am using Magento ve 1.6.1. My getCreateDate () function is exactly the same as you mentioned. I do not see a problem there, because the date is really saved when creating a new client. This only changes when editing my posts.

Partial solution found. Changing lib / Zend / Date.php with this code allows me to edit and save my records without any errors.

 isset($parsed['year']) ? (1970 + $parsed['year']) : 1970, false), $this->getUnixTimestamp(), false); } catch (Zend_Locale_Exception $e) { /*-- fix BEGIN --*/Zend_Locale_Format::getDate( ) failed --*/ if( !is_numeric( $date ) ) { $parsed = date_parse( $date . ( $locale != "" ? " " . $locale : "" ) ); if( $parsed === FALSE ) { $parsed = array( 'year' => 1970, 'month' => 1, 'day' => 1, 'hour' => 0, 'minute' => 0, 'second' => 0 ); } return $this->_assign( $calc, $this->mktime( $parsed['hour'], $parsed['minute'], $parsed['second'], $parsed['month'], $parsed['day'], $parsed['year'], false ), $this->getUnixTimestamp( ), false ); } else { #require_once 'Zend/Date/Exception.php'; throw new Zend_Date_Exception( $e->getMessage( ) , 0, $e, $date ); } /*-- fix END --*/ } } return $this->_assign($calc, $date, $this->getUnixTimestamp(), false); break;

But when I edit the newly added client record, the Client with the changes returns by November 30 -1 01:00:00. So is this a known mistake or what? are there any problems around this problem?

This is a problem with the backend_model used by this attribute. dob uses "eav / entity_attribute_backend_datetime" backend_model, and the product uses "eav / entity_attribute_backend_time_created", but created_at does not use it for the client. This backend_model handles all conversion and filtering dates, so it's as simple as modifying the eav_attribute table. Find the attribute code = 'created_at' AND entity_type_id = 1 and update the value of backend_model from NULL to "eav / entity_attribute_backend_time_created" and it is. No kernel files should be modified.

If you prefer, you can use Resource Setup to update this attribute from the installer of your own module.
