Is it possible to use red5 instead of FFmpeg in Android?

Is it possible to use red5 as my native library instead of FFmpeg for Android? I was told that FFmpeg is inside red5. I cannot see the red5 documentation because the red5 server is not working.

No, you cannot compare these tools. Red5 - just for streaming multimedia (MP4, MP3, FLV) and transferring media files with RTMP protocol. If you are looking for an RTMP client for Android, then perhaps Red5 offers something to offer. But FFMPEG is focused on transcoding / converting streams from one format to another. The only thing these tools have is that in the latest versions of FFMPEG they added support for stream over RTMP. But there it is. Xuggler was (or still is) a project that combines FFMPEG with Red5. But I think they removed Red5 because FFMPEG has RTMP streaming capabilities.
