ParaView crashes when loading a large ASCII VTK file

When I try to upload a VTK file of approximately 100 MB in ParaView, the program crashes. However, if I reduce the file size by selecting fewer data points (average size is approximately 30 MB), it loads without problems.

I am not sure if this is related to the memory management of Windows 7. The system I am using is a dual-core Dell T7500 processor, 2.65 GHz Xenon with 24 GB of RAM.

Sounds like a possible problem with 64-bit paraview identifiers. If you compiled from source, make sure VTK_USE_64BIT_IDS is enabled . If the precompiled binary must be 64 bits.
