Sudden, abrupt changes in failure rate. What could be the reason for this?

I work with a site that has a steady bounce rate of about 50-60%. A couple of weeks ago, the failure rate dropped significantly to 2-6% over a roughly two-week period. Recently, it has been reduced to about 50%.

I did not make any significant changes to the website, I checked for duplicate downloads of ga.js , etc. But I can’t understand how this could happen.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can track this?

Thanks.

First check to see if there are any corresponding fluctuations in other statistics, such as pageviews or visits. This may not be an anomaly. Your bounce rate probably dropped.

Then determine if any events have been added to non-interactive events during this time. See Event Tracking Recommendations .

Finally, if it was event tracking, you can exclude event tracking due to the impact on the bounce rate by adding a non-interactive parameter .
